July 16, 2015

Organiser Pippa Lovering tells us about last weekend’s Land Art Event, along with some wonderful photos from Neil Rushton.

Ponchydown Farm in Blackborough hosted an unusual event on Sunday featuring installations inspired by Land Art. Members of Club on the Exe and four local artists came together and proved to be very talented, creating about 25 pieces of work both large and small around the garden. The Wimbledon Final and the persistent rain did not help so a big thank you to all the visitors who came to view which made all the hard work worth while. It’s a shame it is so transitory and was mostly dismantled at the end of the day. I will always have my Oak Tree window and the photographs.

Pippa also runs the Gardening Club in Blackborough which meets generally on a Thursday evening once a month for gardening presentations and garden trips and also for plants sales and coffee mornings and the annual flower show. There are still places on the Blackborough Garden Club outing next Sunday 19th July. We are going to Picket Lane Nursery at South Perrot and then on to Forde Abbey near Chard.
