Info for Beacon Lighting in Blackborough 11th November.
November 8, 2018

We wanted to let you know the final arrangements for the lighting of the beacon in Blackborough, taking place this coming Sunday to commemorate Armistice Day and 100 years since the end of the First World War. Everyone is very welcome to come along to this hugely important event.

5pm – Blackborough Village Hall and bar open

5.40pm – Songs in the Hall

6.15pm – Procession starts from the Hall to the Churchyard for the Rememberance ceremony.

6.20pm – the procession from the Village Hall will stop at the Churchyard for the reading of the names of those remembered from both wars, two minutes silence, a prayer and a blessing.

The procession will then continue on to the beacon which will be lit at 7pm following a tribute and a bugle call.

We will then make our way back to the Village Hall where the bar will be open .

We are incredibly proud that Blackborough has been chosen as a beacon village, and we really look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
