MDDC Tiverton Book of Condolence
September 13, 2022

Message from Mid Devon District Council: Our Chairman, Councillor Ray Radford has now provided the following advice to members of the public wishing to pay their respects:

Book of condolence Following the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, a book of condolence will be open at Phoenix House, Tiverton, see How to find us.

If you wish to sign the book of condolence, you can do so daily between the hours of 9.00am and 7.00pm including weekends. The book will remain open to the public until 5.00pm on the day following the Queen’s funeral.

Please note that it won’t be possible to provide an undercover waiting area where external queuing occurs and the weather is inclement.

For those who don’t wish to attend in person, an electronic book of condolence can be signed by visiting royal.gov.uk.

Flowers

If you wish to lay flowers in remembrance of the Queen, a dedicated area has been setup in front of Phoenix House. We encourage anyone wishing to lay flowers to use this location and to remove and deposit the wrappings in the bins provided before laying them. Anything else left in this area will not be retained.

It will be possible to leave flowers up until 5.00pm on the day after the funeral. Following this, it’s envisaged that the flowers will be removed, composted and the resultant material used in our parks and gardens.
